We collaborate with researchers, health and social care practitioners, local authorities, national government, charities and community groups to provide world-class expertise, support and training in health economics
Health and Care Economics Cymru is an all-Wales collaboration of health economics experts, based at Bangor University and Swansea University. We are proud to be a Health and Care Research Wales Infrastructure group.
As a centre of excellence in health economics, our ambition is to support health and care in Wales and beyond.
When health and care resources are limited, we need to find out which treatments, interventions and services offer the best value for money. Our Health and Care Economics Cymru team explores the costs and benefits of these different resources. We provide the best evidence possible and help decision makers to make tough choices about how to allocate limited healthcare provision. We work towards creating a positive impact on the health, well-being and prosperity of the people in Wales and beyond, now and in the future.

We build capacity and capability in methodological and applied health economics research in Wales whose work benefits our stakeholders in Wales
