HCEC research officer, Abraham Makanjuola attended two conferences this summer where he presented his work on the Emotion Mind Dynamic (EMD) project.
Abraham was tasked by HCEC Co-Director, Professor Rhiannon Tudor Edwards with reporting what transpired at the conferences. As a result, Abraham decided to vlog the conference proceedings to provide a more immersive account of the events.
The first conference that Abraham attended was the 100th session of the 2022 UK Health Economist Study Group (HESG) which took place from 22nd to 24th June and was hosted by the University of Sheffield. As an early career researcher (ECR), this was Abraham’s first time attending any Health Economics related conference. Not knowing what to expect birthed Abraham’s second objective of the vlog. Abraham says, ‘I wanted to leave a resource for future ECRs and other researchers in the field of Health Economics providing an insight of how conferences can be enriching from my personal viewpoint’ You can watch Abraham’s first conference vlog here: https://aheblog.com/2022/10/13/meeting-round-up-hesg-summer-2022/
Abraham’s second Health Economics conference took place only one week after the UK Health Economists Study Group (HESG) conference. This was the 2022 session of the European Health Economics Association (EuHEA) which took place from the 5th to the 8th of July and was hosted by the University of Oslo. The conference theme was ‘Health Economics for sustainable welfare systems.’
Abraham says, ‘the rationale behind this vlog was to provide a more immersive account of the conference proceedings from an early career researcher (ECR) perspective.’ You can watch this vlog which includes some of Abraham’s exciting cultural excursions around Oslo here: https://aheblog.com/2022/10/14/meeting-round-up-euhea-conference-2022/
